Protect your home from Burglaries

.

Keeping your house safe and secure is very important.  You may not realize it, but there are cheap and foolproof ways to protect your home against burglars and home invasions.  The list below shows some ways to keep your house secured.

1. Choose a safe neighborhood.  Do your research by asking the police department about the level of crime rate in a certain neighborhood.

If you're renting, choose a unit on the upper floor.  Ground floor units are more vulnerable to attacks.

2. Lock your doors.  Check the doors and windows before going to bed at night.  Never let the kids answer the door to uninvited strangers and do not leave the spare key to your house under the door mat or flowerpot.  These are simple tips but they will surely help keep your house safe.

3.  Upgrade doors and windows if they seem faulty.  Also change the locks if they are not functioning well.  Change your hollow core door to a solid one.

4.  Get a dog or pretend to have one by posting a "beware of dog" sign.  Strangers will think twice when they know there is a dog in the house.

5. Make friends with your neighbors.  They can help keep an eye out on your house while you're out.

6. Secure the perimeter of your house by erecting a fence.

7.Install alarms that are very loud and noisy.
