What to look for when buying a "green" home

.

You Can Follow a General Checklist for Purchasing an Eco-Friendly Home

Purchasing an eco-friendly house is not just a great way of caring for the environment; it will also save money in the long run.  Although eco-friendly homes tend to be more expensive, you will save a lot of money. Just look if you see that the house has some or all of the things on the following list:

1. Look for double paned windows to save up on heating and cooling bills.

2. The windows and doors should be sealed in order to hold in the air during the summer and keep out the cold during the winter.

3. The house should have lots of natural lighting and solar power to cut down on energy use.

4. Choose a house that has cooling and heating systems neither too big nor small for more efficiency.

5. The house should be made from locally produced materials or recyclable materials.
